A race 6 years in the making! When Rob Dahm first saw the Hoonicorn launched in 2014, he knew one thing for sure: he needed that same kind of insane project in his life. Measuring pixel by Instagram pixel, and a few phone calls posing as a Hoonigan employee (thanks, Rob), he went down a path of no return to build the wildest FD RX-7 ever. Four rotors, AWD, a giant turbo, sequential transmission, and a whole lot of learning leads up to this very race: up against the car that inspired him to begin with.

Just happy to see the four rotor move. We all know the rotary is a failure by all standard metrics but it’s pure entertainment. Nothing sounds like it and it’s a true underdog.

I think the time difference in this race was all in the gear shifts. Ken was just shifting way faster than Rob. Obviously Ken is just a better driver than Rob is.

Every lose and failure is courage and gate for progress, some time you win and feel sad after but some time you lose but feel you got to do better. This guys are legends. So much fun.
I think if Rob had the experience at the time he would have gotten away with a win. Ken knows way more about the hoonicorn than Rob knows about his rx7 as far as driving the cars goes. With the hoonicorn down a cylinder, that rx7 would have won for sure if Rob had the driving experience Ken does
Rob is shifting not fast enough or he has long gears. Drivers should switch cars I want to see how Ken uses the RX7.

Notice ken pretty much kept his hand on the shifter while Rob was flinging it having to reach back up to shift again. He did alter it towards the end though
