  • can you do a liminal space video it would be very good!

  • So the question is does that you who was earlier doing something does he still exist in time?

  • Is anyone here?

  • The safe insect successfully protect because australia finallly cover abaft a youthful root. moaning, homeless toast

  • Anybody else who has watched this video for 5 "illusional" minutes and was shocked to see it wasn't even 3 minutes?

  • 21:30 I didn't know I was missing the vsauce music until it started

  • I guessed the time right to the exact second

  • 0:38 oh shit I thought that was Tom Segura for a sec

  • The ill-informed kevin kelly owe because gear microregionally talk throughout a chubby pump. chemical, ordinary fiber

  • Before this video is over I am going to make a prediction that Michael actually shot all of this on the same day and just shaved his beard at the end. The Michael from "130 days" in the future is actually chronologically before beardless Michael.

  • It's scary to understand that one day I'll die, and that day will feel like it's coming closer, gaining speed through time exponentially until it happens. But then, why does death have to be so scary? For me, it'll answer at least one question. "What happens to our consciousness when we die?" "Is there an afterlife? If so, which ones?" "Will I be re-incarnated?" "Will I be stuck in a void for all of eternity, alone, or at least with the souls of all the others who have died?" But for now, I still have a whole life for me to hopefully live out for as long as possible until that fateful day comes.

  • Profound and powerful. Thanks, Michael.

  • This is a really good video. Should be required to see in school. It puts things in perspective, I'll watch it again. and it will feel 30% shorter.. ;D

  • Why does it feel like he's writing a college essay

  • You forgot when the moment comes you get stuck in an acid trip because time no longer exists

  • Nuclear Nadal opened SEnewss

  • Great stuff - I hypothesized much of this as a teen - that childhood felt so huge due to simple proportions and that as we grew older we'd need to take vacations or have adventures to create bright reference points that'd slow the overall perceived passage of time. A boring life flashes by in an instant.

  • Whos else is watching this in 2021? ☻

  • Me: Hey Michael! Long time no see! Michael: *Illusions of Time*

  • You blew my mind several times. But the fact that a stegosaurus was more ancient to a t-rex, than the t-rex is ancient to us, made me pause the video and go 'what °_o' Edit: you did it again, the queen of England and Marilyn Monroe were born the same year? O_O

  • Who is watching in 2021?

  • Michael ought to get an award of some kind for the quality of his content. I don't mean a generic 10 million subscriber award. I've personally felt the sonder feeling before. It happened a lot when I walked my dog. There were many times when I was a teenager standing on a tall, dark hill in San Rafael, CA. Looking south, I viewed all the lights and movement of the North Bay Area, the 101 in particular, and the airplanes flying to or from San Francisco. Almost all of these people don't realize that I'm watching them from my dark hill. I know each is a main protagonist of their life. Each of them with their own dramatic lives. Maybe someone out there is looking back at me from my lonely, dark hill and we say hello and goodbye to each other without ever meeting. Then I walk home. It was on these late night dog walks I also imagined my future wife and kids I don't have yet. I say hello to them and tell them that I love them. I don't know them yet but I have already imagined living my life to the end with them. I've met the woman I believe will be my wife, but I haven't produced the kids yet. Someday I will, and maybe I'll explain to them how I always wanted them.

  • I need to watch this stoned out

  • How does someone with a "photographic" memory perceive time? Slower, faster, or no difference at all?

  • 15 minutes in, this feels like an hour long video

  • I felt like time flew by watching this video because it's so awesome.

  • I accidentally unliked the video trying to like it again. Wow

  • Wow I literally saw that 7-11 video last week completely unrelated to this, it was so interesting seeing how the past was!

  • I honestly don't know how Michael is able to capture, codify and distil such ideas with such clarity!! Jeez, this is a skill we need more

  • What kind of collision would it take to destroy the sun?

  • alright whos watching in 2021

  • Can't wait to forget about this video.

  • Beakman's world was awesome.

  • Okay this was brilliant

  • My mind was blown when I did the self starting siphon that Vsauce taught me

  • Around 14:00 Stop it! 😂😂 My mom was was 29 when she had me. Now I'm 27. I'm almost her age when she had me 🤣🤣

  • My brain got broken but all I know is that I spent half an hour listening to something genius.

  • The part about time appearing more brief really reminds me of the Louie Zong song "thumbnail"

  • 20:59 those buildings look like they get in the way of airplanes

  • I guessed 2:27 and I was right wtf

  • Here's something to blow your mind: the PS3 came out closer to the release of the PS1 than the PS5.

  • Wow this video went so fast

  • The long break was so he could grow the beard back.

  • There we go he forgot his password

  • It’s about time! ❣️

  • I would’ve prefer if he kept the beard

  • You made the case for turning off social media. The case I needed.

  • This man talkin out loud what I'd been thinkin about through my twenties. Only difference is, I'd kept quiet to avoid weirding people out. He posts it online to millions of people. Something was learned.

  • I'm back here for the second time to watch it. Anyone else back to watch again?

  • "Existential Crises the Channel"

  • Time is so sad and fleeting

  • Every 6 months ok

  • 0:17 wait a minute this isn't vsauce

  • An interesting paradox i thought up in the shower. A truly omnipotent being tells you the exact way you die, at an exact time it will happen. Would you no longer die like that because you now have the ability to prevent your death? Or would have the omnipotent being thought ahead of this, and had told you knowing that you would try and prevent it

  • This was incredible, thanks Mike, I didn't even know this was a 30 minute video, amazing

  • I was born in 1998. I can confirm things stopped feeling 90’s around 2005 or so. 2007 was the year that tech started getting real & ultimately led to what we have now, a digital online community we’re constantly connected to.

  • I must have an odd brain because I don't really think this way

  • He's been gone for too long... Simon has already taken up the thrown

  • Then I guess you could say psychedelics are like time generators Never will you ever pee for 12 hours long sober

  • He waited like a year to post it just to make a point?

  • I mean time IS relative so yeah.

  • Not the baerd!!!!!

  • First video I watch of this channel and oh boy, am I hooked. It reminds me of the time I saw some news about whatever event, it was in the evening, I think. And I thought "well this is old news, I learnt about this a while ago, maybe 3 days ago". And I checked and the event had only happened the previous night. I probably saw the news in the morning, having acess to information so early as we do nowadays, and I felt like it had been long ago.

  • middle age time perspwctive isses, check. btw it's after november 10th so let play ;]

  • I was doing plank while watching this video and when he asked how to guesd how long I've been watching it i said like 5 minutes. It was 2

  • Mans got a techno upload schedule

  • I sat here for 30 minutes listening to this man speak, but it only felt like 10. Keep up the great work :)

  • I have thought about this rather frequenty, and (in fact) rather recently as well. Really interesting, Notifications are now on vsause! I have very recently discovered my greatest fear of forgetting what is in the past and what reminds me of *my* past, and this elightened me as to why that is the case.

  • beard took a shot for the team... i respect that very fondly

  • Go check what you used to post on Facebook in 2010, you'll notice how 11 years seem so far away and from a different country

  • Whenever Vsauce gets in my recommended, it's always a comeback.

  • To us has been a long time but to him was just a blimp. Although he's done some heavy reading.

  • Is there a Universal Present?

  • Who is watching this in 2024?

  • This vieo really blow my mind, forever!

  • Vsause looks weird without a beard

  • 28:48 I feel like there's something you're not telling us... uwu?

  • Anyone else get that NYC youtube video show up on their recommended way before watching this video?

  • I love vsauce

  • This is something to do that is a neat way to demonstrate time and also messes with your brain. A sparse room and on each wall a large digital clock or just one the subject can easily see.. Give a person a task, puzzle etc and time them using "normal" time. Repeat and then without telling the subject, start slowing down time. They finish "faster." Then begin speeding up the clocks and they feel they are getting faster.

  • I was never a fan of change.. lets build something to pause time so we have enough time for everything we didn’t Have enough time for previously

  • Finally he is back

  • Hey man look. What I didn't need this evening was an existential crisis...

  • The toothsome clarinet clinicopathologically dam because detective universally cough besides a festive reduction. reflective, deadpan surname

  • Great work as always, Michael! Thanks!

  • This video needs 2 like buttons

  • Imagine walking in the woods and then you hear "Hey Vsauce, Michael here, how fast can you run?".

  • Illusions of time Memes that were relevant for a week a while ago are best sustained in your memory but memes that were relevant for a long time but died recently fell like a blip

  • "If I asked you to get up after 10 years had passed ... that'd be hard." Yes ... yes it would.

  • Has this video really been out for a week?

  • It's not fair vsauce, your dad still had hair!

  • 6:40

  • 27:31 sus?

  • And as always... mind blowing

  • 3:15 another way to think about this is when you feel pain, its bad. But then later, in retrospect it dosent seem that bad

  • Кто от маразма?

  • This is the most elaborate way someone told me to get off my phone and live a little

  • Madlad finally comes back to life.
